Hattie Marion

Hattie Marion was born on November 16, 1929 in Holly Springs, Mississippi, the daughter of Abron and Valeria Miller. Hattie worked on the family farm and attended rural schools until her marriage to Robert Marion in 1946. After their marriage, they both worked on the family farm until 1948 and then moved to Champaign, Illinois. They have 5 children who all attended Champaign Public Schools.

Hattie has always been very civic and community minded. She is presently a member of the NCNW and the Champaign County Home Extension Organization. Hattie is a firm believer in lifelong learning and is presently taking computer classes where she is enhancing her computer skills. She also has many talents and skills such as her love of cooking, canning, quilting, gardening, entertaining and collecting antiques.
